and the effects are fantastic, also you can pick up some objects in the game, like bottles, boulders, rocks, etc and use them as weapon. and every weapon type have their own set of spells and skills. I play an Elementalist, kinda like a destructive Mage/Wizard. It's similar to WOW but its much smoother. Imagine the battle system of Dragon Age, but you have full control of your character's movements. The battle system is so fun, its very smooth and satisfying, from what i've played so far, there is no mana, only cooldowns on your skill (most of which are short). Almost no Character will ever look exactly the same. and this is coming from a variety gamer.Ĭharacter Customizations are the best i've seen in an Online RPG so far, you can say its up there with Skyrim. everything is awesome, It's like the combination of WOW, Elder Scrolls, and Dragon Age. The game is perfectly fine, and ITS A GREAT GAME, In fact I just bought it yesterday, I'm playing on the Isle of Janthir world. Guildies on the other hand are great for that sort of thing. The main downside right now is that everyone is 80 so there isn't many people that do the sub-80 dungeons - at least for a Pickup Group. The dungeons are not very forgiving they will present a challenge to you and everyone involved. The personal quests start out slow but by the time you hit 50 they are challenging and very engaging. In fact the first level 80 on the server got there almost entirely by crafting. You can jump in and out of guilds like they are prostitutes in Thailand, so your circle of friends never has to be limited.Ĭrafting is also very rewarding in the exp department. PVP is a blast if you have friends to play with you. It's the best designed MMO as far as hotkeys as well. I literally can just walk around exploring and gain a level in about 30-40 minutes. It's by far the most polished and the most modern MMO to date. It's combat system is imo the best on the market. Especially if you can get it at a discount price. It's one of the first MMOs in a long time that lets it be a game and not a second job. It's no revolution, but it's by far one of the most easy to get into and stress free MMOs that allows people to jump on, kick some ass and log off without a concern in the world. all of which at some point have opinions on the game. There's also a few threads on this forum about Guild Wars 2 gameplay, performance, technical help etc. One time payment for the full game, no gimmicks and it's not a free to play system. Due to the gameplay and the difference in classes, there's enough enjoyment from both to make you want to play nearly all of them and level in all the areas possible Like in Rift, and even more so, you can adventure with strangers and not have to struggle to communicate or figure out objectives Never have to worry about falling behind leveling wise or getting ahead of your friends There's lots to do up until the 'end game' Quest system is not revolutionary per se, though definitely evolutionary Dungeons can be fun and some interesting puzzles This encompasses variations on the typical mechanics and gameplay that players have come to expect, and therefore offers something with enough variance and deviation that it's a welcome change to the genre.įrom being an old school EQ player myself, who looks down on most modern MMORPG, this is what I took from Guild Wars 2 : ever since Warcraft and EverQuest II were launched - while also providing some new innovations to the genre. Guild Wars 2 is arguably the best modern MMO in that it offers all the convenience that we have had with cloned template games like Aion, AoC, LOTRO, Warhammer, RIFT, and etc. If the question was 'Does Guild Wars 2 break the typical 'end game' mold for modern MMOs' then your answer would be seen as "No it does not, and here is an example of why."
